Lens flare and ghosting

It wasn't an obvious section to ad to this gallery as theCoolpix 8800 is almost completely free from flare, ghosting or any other kind of light show inside the lens. When the sun is in the frame or closely outside, small and unobtrusive reflections may appear in the opposite field of the frame. I really had to search for them. That's about all as long as you keep the front lens clean.
When a part of the sun is behind the horizon or an object, there is some light «bleeding» over the edges of the dark parts close to it. If this is due to the lens, the sensor, the software, or optical laws I don't know. It's nothing that bothers me, I've had similar effects on film before.
For this type of lens (long zoom range, many pieces of glass inside) this is a very remarkable feat. And it strengthens my view that this lens had deserved a better (especially faster) camera attached to it.
