IRAN, BANDAR SHAHPUR: Iranian dock worker with freighter ships lined up to load cargo and fuel at the port on the Persian Gulf. Bandar Imam Khomeini is a port city on the Persian Gulf in Khūzestān Province, Iran. Before the 1979 Iranian Revolution, it was known as Bandar Shahpur. It is named after Ayatollah Seyyed Ruhollah Khomeini, who was regarded by his followers as an imam. Archival photo from 1974.
