I am not really one for photographing bugs, but this was
a unique opportunity. This is a Cicada hatch which occurs
only every seventeen years. We were at the Blueridge Parkway
Folk art center and noticed this pimeval drone of hundreds of
thousands of Cicadas. This one had just molted and was stretching
its wings and drying them so that it could fly.
