Whodunit?
What did they do?
When I came home from work today, my backyard was strewn with feathers!
Cat? Hawk? Bird fight? Molting Migration?
No body, and I have no other clues.

The pile of feathers are leftover from a Mourning Dove. The single feather in the center towards the right is a tail feather which is what gave away the type of bird. Very likely a Coopers Hawk was the predator.

A puff of feathers on the ground like this is a sure sign of a hawk attack on a bird. Seeing larger feathers in the picture make me think the prey was a blue jar and the likely culprit a female sharp shinned hawk or a coopers hawk.
