Jack-in-the-Pulpit

#8 'things about me'

I enjoy walking in the woods and photographing the sometimes unexpected beauty of the forest floor.
I found this ripe seedhead laying on the ground after recent heavy rains.
Nature's way of replanting.

That is a treat. I just saw one yesterday but it was a bit farther gone than this one.

I don't know anything about Jack-in-the-Pulpit plants - great shot though

I have not seen a jack-in-the-pulpit since moving to Texas. When my girls were little we used to love to walk through the woods looking for them. This is a really beautiful image.

I was given a plant many years back but our long drought was too much for it....nice detail of the seedhead, Terry

I like the light and colours in this - you've captured the mood of the forest floor very well.
