Red-Bellied Woodpecker

Murfreesboro,TN

We are continuing to follow this guy's exploits while we walk. Sherri is still suffering from nerve pain related to her post-viral syndrome, so we get exercise daily. We usually can hear this little guy in one area as we walk, and Sherri's 20/13 vision after Lasik surgery is a huge help to me in spotting.

Thus, the mystery, Hal....wondering if the biologist who named him got a little confused...

Thank you, Terry. I hear these guys all over our neighborhood...I think there must be 3 or 4 pair. One tree has several holes all the way through it, so I guess they have live here quite a while.
