Afternoon with Friends

Shiloh, TN

First day of spring in Shiloh, Tennessee was much more similar to Washington or Oregon this year. Cool, damp, and windy, the afternoon was made a little warmer by being able to see some old friends. This male eagle was taking off to chase away an intruder adult male, probably an offspring who lives in the neighborhood. At least one new bird just hatched in the old nest....The light was pretty terrible and getting worse, so the 300/4.0 was a little slow tracking, and there were fewer quality shots, and some blurred shots of an air duel which seemed to be extremely fast. Could barely track with the opponents.

Dear Mike,
He certainly looks as if he is on a mission.
What a treasure on the first day of spring.

A fine shot Michael.
l know it's their natural expression but his scowl
does seem to fit his aggressive mission.

Very well captured Michael.
I find in-flight shots difficult but this is really sharp.

Definitely difficult lighting, Michael. Nice result, though. In-flights are always the greatest challenge!
