Love this! Covered bridges always make for great photos! Wish we had some here.

Terry, Mike, Pete, Pat, thank you for your comments.

Terry, The lens does not really control contrast, it is a function of the design, coatings, and glass used, but some render more or less contrast to the photo. For instance, in my lineup of rangefinder lenses for my Leica cameras, my Canon 50 f/1.4 ltm (Leica Thread mount) and my Contax Carl Zeiss Jena (1937 converted to ltm) both have lower contrast. On very sunny, contrasty days, you will have a little bit of leeway in the dynamic range when using them. It is less likely that you will blow out the highlights. My 50 Summitar that Hal mentions, has a more medium contrast. My Leica 50 Summilux ASPH has aspherical glass and modern coatings and renders the most contrast of my 50's. I have a Cosina Voigtlander 21mm lens that is also very contrasty (as most of the Voigtlander line is). It is easier to add contrast in post processing, than it is to bring back highlights and shadows when they have clipped.

I have to ask; you mentioned in your response comment to Hal, that the Canon 50mm 1.4
provided lower contrast. I had no idea that the lens controlled contrast.
I think I am learning something new.

So beautifully composed and so sharp, Cindy! I love the color tones.

Thank you for your kind comments, Hal. I don't think it was the Summitar. It probably was the Canon 50 f/1.4 ltm. I like to use it in the summer time because of its lower contrast.

l thought you had just been to New England Cindy.
And taken with an old M2 ! 50mm Summitar lens ?
A really lovely and peaceful composition with the calm waters
and blue boat.
