Battle of Brawner's Farm

Wade House, Greenbush, WI

The Sesquicentennial of the Civil War was celebrated with the depiction of the Battle of Brawner's Farm. The original battle took place near Manassas, VA in 1862.
I could have used a little more shutter speed on this photo, but I like the feel of it. Part of the charm of shooting film is the trade off with the film speed vs max shutter speed vs focal length.

This is outstanding! You've caught the atmosphere, perfectly.

I really like this picture Cindy. I am a confirmed digital photographer now, but I realize that one the unfortunate byproducts of the digital age has been an obsession with everything being sharp - even when it is not the best choice.

Feels very vintage here, with the beautiful combo of Portra 160 and that amazing Contax glass.
I am not sure why I sold that equipment...

I like the bit of motion blur too, Cindy - and right on about use of film. "Everything
in photography is a compromise." :)
