Lake Windermere

This is taken from a transparency that I took about 40 years ago.
I've rigged up a frame to light and hold the slide and taken a macro shot of it.
Then quite a bit of time removing spots in photoshop.

I've recently collected about 2000 slides from my Mother and so have a project to go through and decide which ones to snap and work on for posterity.

beautiful sunset... we have hardly seen the sun but one day in two weeks
but the sun comes with the cold so I am not complaining...

Beautiful scene and colors.

I've heard of the technique you are using for reproduction,
but tend to agree with Cindy about having a 3rd party scan
as it would likely free up your time to less tedious things
(and I'm inherently lazy).

I've had what I think are decent results using flat-bed
scanners with slide adapters in the distant past.

Great story behind the picture! Fine colors and a fine picture!

This is wonderful, Pete. The dynamic range is amazing. It sounds like a very big project. I hope that you have a light box to make your job easier. You could always pick out your favorites and send them in for professional scanning, but your method certainly works well (though time consuming).

This is fantastic Pete, a great shot.
I like your idea of taking a macro shot of the slide.
Now that is something I must try.

Great shot, Pete.
I am amazed how fine a shot you got, considering you were only 5 years old at the time...
