The Kansas River is quite geologically interesting in fact.There are many Ox-bows created along its windy path, and probably due to the soft limestone valley it passes through.
A beautiful time of day Michael, love the light in the clouds...

Thanks so much for your nice comments. It's hard to imaging how warm it was when I shot this tranquil scene. Interestingly, this is the only dam on he Kansas River, and the eagles can be seen in winter just below the dam, sampling the fish in the moving, non-frozen water, which can be the only moving water for miles. It's hard to imagine that scenario when the temperature is 82 degrees F at 0630...

Excellent, I like the way the light is reflecting off the water.
The soft warm light, but those clouds are really something else.
