I was looking over a buddy's RAW Palmetto lower-based AR rifle and noticed something interesting..

The AW ban list names the Palmetto (Brand) SGW (model) *all as banned rifles by name.

The receiver states "Palmetto" as make, and "BH15" or some such model designation.
'SGW' was never the model, the place of manufacture lists 'SGW OLY WA' or something to that extent (excuse my non photographic memory).

Now- question is, is the rifle (or lower) still banned by name? They screwed the pooch big time in naming the model as 'SGW' (unless Palmetto actually made an 'SGW' lower.

PS- for those too young to remember, Palmetto lowers were originally made by Olympic arms, and machined from solid billet. They are the **only** pre-federal ban billet lowers made, and made from 1979-1982 or some such years. Apparently they're worth big bucks now in states which allow pre-ban ARs (not that it would be worth selling something with RAW status in CA_ that's priceless).

Your confusing a bunch of different issues.

Palmetto SGA on the list was not the same as Palmetto State Armory of SC.

Answer: Yes, Palmetto: SGA (All) is "banned" nothing has been removed from the list

So the receiver your asking about is not even on the list in the first place. Therefore OLL.
