I am sorry for your loss. I can't imagine if that would have been my daughter. I have 5 daughters and two of them are currently in a boarding school in Japan while their father is station there and my other three are living in California with their dad. My advise is never to say "goodbye" but yet say "I'll see you again soon" and that is what I have been telling my patients' families at the nursing home. Saying "goodbye" is not worth saying simply because you will see them again. Good luck to you and your family!!
