MONEMVASIA GREECE

Monemvasia is an old village, or walled city, in the Peloponnese region of Greece. It dates back to the Byzantine Era. Most of these photos were taken high above the old town where the hotels shops and restaurants are, in the area around the Church of Aghia Sofia. This would have been the fortress area that was most invulnerable to invaders, and where the nobles lived.
