The Peeled Onion is a partly exposed granite dome below Beardsley Reservoir on Middle Fork Stanislaus River. The road that crosses the dome is an old railroad grade that was used to service Pickering Lumber operations in the Soap Creek area. The Beardsley Reservoir forebay is below the dome.
