As you can see the installation is in progress. I was approached by the custodian, who
told me that this statue is owned by City of Los Angeles and previously it was placed in
the public park on the opposite side of the street. In this park the statue was vandalized.
Foremost someone broke off and stole the crucifix held by the effigy of Junipero Serra.
The statue was relocated to the safe place in the West Garden of the Mission San Fernando.
