This view is available only from the West Garden, inside the Missing Grounds. And yet, this is the
typical view of the Church entry, with its Campanario (Bell Tower) on the right side. The West Garden
features among others two bells cast in Spain from Ezcaray collection, dated 1686 and 1720.
During my visit I saw also a statue of Juniper Serra just installed on the grounds. The designers
were working on creating a water creek with a statue depicting the legend of San Francisco traveling
on the Lake of Rieti (Piediluco) and the fish. Due to ongoing construction I could not reach the
statue of Fermin Lasuén, founder of this Mission and the 2nd president of California Missions.
