Entrance to the Alcazar is through this Plaza. On the left visible is the building of
Archivo de Indias (General Archive of the Indies). Holdings include the "Bull of Demarcation
Inter caetera" of Pope Alexander VI in which he divided the world between Spain and
Portugal, the journal of Christopher Columbus, maps and plans of Spanish American
cities etc. This is definitely one unique archive of historic documents bar none.
