This plain building is the burial site of the last German Kaiser, Wilhelm II. His wish that no
swastikas be displayed at his funeral was not heeded. None of his two wifes were buried here.
His second wife Hermina left Doorn after Wilhelms's death and returned to Lower Silesia Saabor
(Fürsteneich Castle) what proven to a fatal mistake. She was taken prisoner 1945 and ended up in a
Soviet Paulinenhof Internment Camp. She is buried in the Antique Temple of Sanssouci Park, Potsdam.
