Monterey (MRY) Monterey Airport is very often covered by a layer of coastal stratus. Consequently an IFR approach is a must in many cases. Mostly in winter the buildup of the coastal stratus is less pronounced, what allows for a VRF fly-in. We recommend Del Monte Aviation as the place to stop. Ramp Fee is $25 as of 2011.
