Day 5 was a day of many accomplishments. We spent the day at the town of La Lima working on different projects. The team was divided in two in the morning, while one team cleaned out mud from a home devastated by the Hurricanes 4 months ago. The other team was painting a new home built by El Ayudante Honduras ministry. In the afternoon, we joined both teams to distribute hygiene kits and clothes to more then 300 people in the community of San Jose in La Lima. A community that is still struggling to recover from the natural disasters in November. This community was flooded 4 times in 2 weeks and still have no electricity. Thanks to El Ayudante that permitted us to join efforts with their team. I had the great privilege to speak a word of encouragement to the community. As I shared the words of Psalmist David as he cried out to God in chapter 42, Why have you forgotten me? Then, he reminds himself that he needs to put his hope in God and praise HIM, his Savior and his God. *It was so humbling to see the many faces in the crowd as they struggled not losing hope but at the end praying and confessing together that only in GOD can we have HOPE.
I've done a few disaster relief mission trips to Honduras since the hurricanes hit in November 2020 but, this trip was special. Why? Well, it was special because I was blessed to have 17 other people join in the efforts of bringing hope, love and compassion to the Hondurans. I had this great joy that together we accomplished so much more! I love seeing the body of Christ functioning to fulfill the needs of those hurting and expanding the gospel. So, this alone brought joy to my heart but, then seeing the transformation of the members of the Hands of God mission team was just the icing on the cake! Wow!!! To see how they not only gave their all in Honduras but, returned overflowing with blessings and testimonies. This is my satisfaction to see lives transformed for Christ right before my eyes, influencing others to find their purpose and calling in the LORD!!! This trip will go down in history as one where GOD once again showed up and showed off! Praise God that He fulfills his promises to His people!
