JOHN PARRA, NLM AND HANDS OF GOD AT MISSION OF HOPE IN HAITI DAY3

Rise and Shine Missionaries!!! Up at 6am and ready for devotions at 6:30. Today is my birthday...without a doubt the most memorable birthday ever...other than missing my babies at home, today couldn't be a more divine perfect place to be. Our devotions were led by two of our youth girls, Genesis and Gaby...genuine worship...So grateful we brought our 5 youth to this trip...not only have they been a blessing, I truly believe they will never ever be the same! Marlen shared her heart this morning with the team...being at the feet of Christ, being broken is where he can truly Lift us up and create New things, God doesn't have to do ANYTHING else for us, He's done more than enough...We worship HIm for Who He is and not for What he does..When you seek Him first, all things are added! Jorge Escoto shared an amazing word with us last in Mathew 16....We die so He can LIVE, and YES WE WANT TO!!!! God has used these last two days to build a Unity...a bond...a ONEness that is sooo strong! He's emptied us from "us" and filled us with His amazing LOVE. I can strongly say that we are ready for our first outreach service in where we will move in ONE accord...the teams faith has risen....they are bold, courageous, and filled with His supernatural LOVE...All for His glory...it's absolutely nothing about us..it's All about Him. The team broke off into four groups: Medical team, Dental Team, Construction Team, and Orphanage. I went with the medical and dental team today...I have to admit not being able to speak the language, not being able to understand them is quite difficult. I felt so hopeless at times because there wasn't any translators available to just pray and speak to people..praying God allows us to break that language barrier, it is one of the most challenging parts of this trip. Jay and Lauren are working like crazy....although the clinic/hospital works at a very slow pace (they call it haitian time) they see tons of patients and treat them well. I love the way it functions....theres christian music playing throughout the day...the patients here a devotional, have an opportunity to accept Christ, and as they are treated the Dr's or nurses pray over them! It was amazing to see in a waiting area where the Haitians had been waiting FOREVER, sitting literally on top of each other, with no air, no water...where still worshipping God. Literally, they were with there arms in the air, on their knees worshipping!! It was amazing!!!!! Alex and Kiara also saw some patients...pulled some teeth, fillings, cleanings....The best thing was watching them lay hands and pray over the patients. They even saw a 6mth old baby and treated him for a severe ear infection. God is really doing a miraculous work in their lives! We are know leaving to a very poor village we went to yesterday, the kids are mostly naked...we are going to do a distribution of clothes, shoes, cloth diapers, vitamins and formula followed by our very first outreach service in which Yovan will be sharing....excited to see God move....Over all this trip so far has been "more than WORTH IT ALL" By. Truly this trip has been both a tremendous eye opening experience, and an extremly humbling work from the Lord. Everyday, something has been seen that will make you have one of those moments that are forever etched into your memory. Whether it be someone inspiring or heartbreaking, this is something that can never be forgotten, and should be experienced by anyone who has the chance to. It is evident we have been called to pour out into Haiti that which God has poured out to us.
Once the team was reunited from our various projects (construction, medical, dental, orphanage) we went to distribute clothes to a nearby village. While there was some difficulty keeping the crowd in order at the end, I would do it all again in a heart beat. Just to be able to give clothing to people, who had absolutely nothing, was worth so much more than any discomfort. There were children there who hadn’t had clothes to where for who knows how long. Any basic item that can be bought at a store was unavailable to them. Being able to provde such a basic need to people who are in desperate need was something I will never forget. It reminded me of the verse where Jesus says “when I was hungry you fed me, and when I was naked you clothed me…for truly I tell you, when you do it unto these, you have done it unto me.”
Afterwards, we gathered for our eveninig devotional. The worship was absolutely sensatonal. A group of kids who live here at Mission of Hope blessed us by leading worship. And when I say blessed, I mean BLESSED!! They sought to worship God in such a way that could rival many churches. Despite there situation, and circumstance, they sang with such passion and desire for the Lord that was awe inspring. They worship as if they had all the privilages one could ask for despite not having very much. After a short devotional, we continued to worship. It lasted until 10:00 PM. It was simliar to “an all worship Sunday service” when worship is all you need. It’s one of those nights you wish you could just stop time, and relive over and over again.
I’ll leave you with this. The main word that the Lord has place in my heart this entire trip is to simply pour out. He will refill, he will sustain, but we must pour out (Psalm 62:8) We cannot hold back. This treasure we have in Jesus is not something we should hide away. For as new wine can not be poured into old wineskins, we must constantly be pour out, for it is the only effective way one can truly share our faith, and continue to grow. God bless.
