I can truly say that I feel so blessed to have been part of this missions trip to Haiti. This team was amazing! We all worked so well with each other and allowed for the Lord to work in and through us. I especially loved visiting the people and children of the village of Williamson. I loved visiting their homes and sharing hygiene packs, planting trees, but mainly I was honored to be able to share with them the love of Jesus. The level of poverty I saw in this village was very hard for me as well as the sadness I saw in their eyes. It was then that I knew how much these people needed Jesus as their source of hope. Visiting the orphanage at Williamson was special for me since my passion in life is children. Being able to play with them and hold them was very gratifying as well as heartbreaking, knowing that none of them had a mother and father to raise them. I wanted to pack them all up in my suitcase and bring them home with me. Giving the warmth of a mother to a child in need was my greatest pleasure. Throughout the week we were also able to do short Kids Clubs with the children of the orphanage as well as with the children of the village of Leveque. I taught them a bible lesson on heaven and shared the good news of Jesus being the only way. I was able to lead them in prayer to accept Jesus into their lives. These children are the future of Haiti and I know true change will start with them. I pray that what they learned this week will change their lives and that they grow up to be strong Godly leaders in their villages that the Lord will use for His glory.
