As you head down to the road from Sekong Tal you pass a grassy area with a number of these stone tent bases and you may wonder what they are used for. Well, in the summer, Nepalis come here to drink yak blood. Tents are erected over these stone bases to form temporary shelters. About a litre of blood is let from each yak and then drunk by those assembled. This is followed by a drink of Rakshi to wash it down (and take away the taste, I expect!) Urghhh....
