P2233782.jpg

The trail near Lobuche provides some spectacular views. Here is the great wall of Nuptse(7861 metres) towering over the Khumbu glacier running from left to right. There had been no snow for over 4 months so there was much bare rock in evidence. The geological structure of Nuptse is quite clear - look for the big curl of light grey rock under the darker grey of the main ridge of Nuptse.
