13th April 2007 - I have put the wall plates in position on a mortar bed. The black plastic dpc that you can see under the wall plates will be trimmed once the mortar has hardened. The dpc stops damp rising from the ground into the wooden frame of the building and causing rot. In a couple of days time we will be able to start constructing the suspended floor. It's all carpentry for a while now so a bit easier on the workers!
