As we trekked up to the Thorong La (5416 metres) we were joined by a couple of young Irishmen, passing and repassing each other as we stopped for rests. At the top they congratulated us on our achievement. We were much older than them so we hadn't done too badly. One of them took this photo of us in front of the cairn and it is one of my most favourite pictures.
