This is a typical doorway into a Tibetan house. They will usually lead into an area wher the animals are kept. Tibetan houses in this area are generally built around a square courtyard with only small windows and doors in the outside walls to keep out the fierce Kali Gandaki wind which starts to blow about 10 o'clock in the morning. The open-roofed courtyard allows light into the building but keeps out the wind.
