This view inside the old shearing shed at Bidgemia shows the shearing stations. Each of the large wheels, on the line shafting running along the top of the wall, drives a set of shearing clippers. At shearing time this was a hot, busy place with the shearers busy, sheep being manhandled into position and the fleeces being removed. Bidgemia station no longer has any sheep as a result of the crash in the wool market. Some 14,000 cattle now roam the 1,6 million acres of outback that comprise the station. The poor nature of the land is demonstarted by the figures - 114 acres per animal!
