I just figured it out. Its a lobster trap location marker scores of miles out in the North Atlantic Ocean off Maine. Usually 40 lobster traps are laid out 30 feet apart on a line and settle on the ocean bottom 1800 feet below. That's what I just heard on the show Lobster Men on the Science Channel.
