Most of my life I have lived near Route 66, within walking distance much of the time. When I was young, in the days before Interstate 10, the family used to follow this road from Los Angeles to Uncle Jay and Lucy's farm in Fontana. There were citrus groves and vineyards instead of strip malls back then.
