The winter of 2009-2010 was one of the coldest and longest winters we have had in Denmark recently, in some places with 3 months of non-stop snow cover, ironically this winter was one of the warmest ever, globally! Usually the winters in Denmark offer only somewhere between 1 and 4 weeks of snow cover.
This particular shot was taken in Kolding where the fjord was frozen over, although it was a very long and cold winter the straits did not freeze, but many of the fjords and bays did freeze. All of the lakes were frozen hard!
