MOTHOGRAPHY by WARREN KRUPSAW

WHOA! What's she doing here? This is MY husband's gallery because he pleads technological impairment when it comes to learning the process. Each to 'his' own (manuals). There is SO much to learn in this world and to deprive it of his excellent work would be a crime - in my very humble (not) opinion.So world, are you ready. This is just the beginning of MY HUSBAND'S PHOTOGRAPHY. He does this work on the deck of our home. Before we retire to in front of the TV set, he turns on the lights to attract his subjects. Then, before we go to bed, he steals out the front door (so as not to let any critters inside the house) and photographs them on his finger. They obligingly cooperate and voilá portraits of moths. This is just the latest of his creativity. There will/should be more. Have just acquired a UV light; this could be fun.

I am amazed at the variety of antennae ! I had a great entomology class at Purdue, and I have collected, had students collect, and raise host and food plants here in Florida for about 5 species of butterflies, but I have never seen such incredible photos of the detail of antennae. Thank you!

Rest assured you are not the only person turning on the front porch light before you retire to see what bugs you can attract. You must have a great light because these are some fantastic moths! I wish I was so lucky, nice job - great gallery.

I used to live in N.J. and we had many moths at night that would come to the light. Unfortunately at the time I did not have a macro lens or think about trying to photograph them. Going back to visit soon and will make it a point to hang around the porch light. Thanks for the inspiration!
