#084 Rooster

We took Claudia to a farm in East Links Farm in East Lothian today.
They have a nice set up for young families with lots of animal to touch
and feed and other childrens activities.
Quite hard to get good shots as it was very busy and lots of fences and busy
backgrounds. This handsome rooster was strutting his stuff in front of the hens !

Also got this handsome guy :

Footnote: Aargh this chicken has disappeared three times from PBase. I keep reloading it but it keeps going !

other sizes: small medium original auto

Great portrait. We used to live on a farm and in many ways I really miss the animals. My kids showed chickens and turkeys at the County Fair. We had to give them a bath and shampoo the feathers and scrub the feet and legs. A wet chicken is quite a sight!!! :) Cindy

My mother had a salt & pepper set of this breed & I have always liked them. They are full of character...nice image John, like your crop.

Sounds like a fun day, especially for children. Strutt is stuff is the right wording for this fellow. He appears a touch crumpy, that ole rooster!

Agree with Ian - he doesn't look too happy at having his photo taken! Good colours and detail.
