Second nest to be banded. This is what was going on two days before we were to band these 3 chicks. |

When at this height we watched as Tim shook his head "no" back and forth. |

On to nest number three in the dense marsh west of New London |

Both parents were on site and told us they were not happy with us. |
Tim had to do a 180 to get to where the chicks were hiding on the nest |
This chick weighed #1448 grams. |
Gary did the banding a short distance from the pole in a little bit of shade. |

Out of 8 active nests only 4 had chicks to band. |
