Fireman to the rescue, Aldo goes home.

On Saturday January 8th we got a call on a downed hawk in the Kaukauna area. Don picked up the bird. The bird was having some sort of seizures. It could not stand and kept grabbing at any slight movement. It was scared, it showed in its eyes. The bird was not injured that we could see on x-ray. It was at good weight and feather perfect.

It was picked up at the home of Michael Novy who lives on the Fox river. It was down in the neighbors yard. During the course of its rehab here we got in a second bird from the same area with the same symptoms. Another rehabber got in more red tails with the same injuries. She did testing and came up zero on tests as to what was wrong with these birds. She put her 5 back in the wild and we put our two back out also. They recovered and were released. Only red tails , adults and immatures.
