Osprey Banding in Manawa brought to you by Great Lakes Line Builders/MJ Electric
On July 9 a small group of people met at the baseball field at 8 am to watch osprey chicks being banded. Great Lakes Line Builders/MJ Electric supplied the bucket truck and the operator.
Jim "Sharky" Schroeder was the person from Great Lakes to do the honors. He was assisted by Don Baumgartner of New London. There was also some interested citizens from Manawa willing to help in any way.
If this project works out we will try to mount a camera on the nest for next year and then all can watch via the internet.
The Feather Wildlife Rehabilitation out of New London holds the banding permit.
