My friend Paul told me that if I went to Southern California I had to see this place. Well, I did, and it's amazing. It was in early March, at the beginning of the desert wildflower season, and both the Joshua Trees and Yuccas were also in flower. I was there for an interesting sunset which was enhanced (or marred, depending on your viewpoint) by LA smog rolling up the San Bernardino valley. It's a wild and rocky area, but still supports a wide variety of plant, and animal life.
