This is not the orignal "De Uiver" but a DC-2 named after the plane with the same name that became the winner of the 1934 race London (Mildenhall)-Melbourne.
The trip took 3 days 18 hours and 13 minutes. Nowadays it takes about 1 day to fly the same distance.
The original "De Uiver" crash landed in the Syrian desert on Dec. 19, 1934 when she was on her way to Batavia (Jakarta, Indonesia)
