Mr Loonan,

Did you teach Automotive mechanics at Adlai E. Stevenson high school in the Bronx during the 1980's? Did you own a sailboat named Loonasea? If so I was one of your students and you were a positive and long lasting influence on me.

Marc,

Although I very much doubt you remember me, my name is Dana Siles and I am originally from Yorktown Heights, NY. I took your class at NWCA in 1988 (or '89?). I am going through a bunch of old photos/documents right now, consolidating my belongings, and found a photo of you + photo essay I wrote about you for a HS class assignment. I want to let you know that I owe a lot to you - I had a terrible experience with my first photo teacher in 9th grade HS and almost quit photography but you inspired me to keep it going. I am now a professional photographer in RI. My web site is www.danasiles.com and I can be reached via email at dana@danasiles.com. You can also find me on Facebook. Hope you are doing well and still shooting! Perhaps we'll have a cup of coffee next time in I'm in NY (if you are still living there). I am in NY 1-2x per month to see my family. Thank you for everything back in '88!

Cheers,
Dana

Suberb composition and excellent catches of "in-the-momment" opportunities in nature. This body of work is evidence of a very skilled, dedicated photographer. Congratulations

Very high standards for picture composition and use of light and dark. Excellent work.
