This is a non-captive Trumpeter Swan. The rarest swan species in North America. Thanks to a reintroduction program, this bird is making a successful recovery. In all the trips to find wildlife I've made, I've never had one quite like this. After about 5-10 minutes of observing them from a distance of 75 yards, the swans made their way right over to us and sat at our feet. It was nothing short of incredible observing them at such an intimate range.
Its hard to believe that something so large can be so graceful in the air.
