Our neighbors across the street have a stand of cotoneasters, and every year it seems robins and waxwings descend for a few hours' feast on a single day when the berries are ripe. The birds take time off from gorging themselves for a bath in our fountain. We had the visitation this year around midday on November 27, with the addition that a neighborhood California Thrasher briefly attended the berry harvest.
