I spent January 11-13 in Morro Bay, as the first leg on a bird-photography trip to southern California. I did most of my bird photography at the Marina, where I had the good luck to meet Kevin Cole, a fine Morro Bay photographer. I got sidetracked from the birds around mid-day on the 12th, when the surfers were working the big waves breaking right next to the Morro Rock parking lot.
