Birds - Monterey Bay, July-August 2004

In a long weekend staying near Moss Landing on Monterey Bay, I got pictures of shorebirds, terns, seabirds, etc., including a dramatic struggle for life by a Pigeon Guillemot, and the fabulous scene at the mouth of the Salinas River, where a large post-breeding colony of Elegant Terns and a nesting colony of Caspian Terns share the space.
