Pictures taken in the Los Banos area (these all at Merced National Wildlife Refuge) November 8-10, 2008. There were more cranes in the refuge than I've ever seen before; on the other hand, the ponds weren't yet entirely filled up with water, and there were fewer birds near the road, so fewer photo opportunities with other species, than I had in previous winter visits.
