Hi Gary -- Thanks -- nope, I didn't have time to take off the extender, had to shoot with it on, but did remember to switch the lens to the close focus setting, as the bird was inside the 3 meter minimum of the regular setting. Tom

Tom: This has the best shots I have viewed of roadrunners and that you were able to sit long enough for the bird to come with in 5 feet. My hat is off to you SIR
