We saw hundreds of White-crowned Sparrows, many of them singing months before breeding season. Quite a few of these fall songs were incomplete or otherwise poorly sung, by hatch-year males trying out their singing capabilities for the first time. I was able to capture this picture of an immature bird that I heard singing badly.
