Birds -- Southern California Desert, January 2008

I spent January 15-18 in the desert, as the third and final leg of a bird photography trip to southern California. I stayed at Casa del Zorro near Borrego Springs, and photographed at Yaqui Well, around the Palm Canyon trail head, and on the Zorro grounds in Borrego, and spent the afternoon of 17th and morning of the 18th at and around the Salton Sea NWR, getting most of my birds at the NWR headquarters.

Excellent photos. Must have been lots of culls to have this quality.
I was just there and saw a flock of goldfinches. American or Lesser?

Great photos. Thank you. I gor to La Quinta each year and try to find new birds I have not seen inthe area. Your photos gave me three more that Ican seekout.
