Dear Tony,
I am the author of the book “The Who: A Million Little Memories”, a collective memoir made of hundreds exclusive tales, anecdotes and accounts from relatives of the band, close friends, fans, promoters and photographers from UK to the USA. It also features hundreds never seen before pictures and memorabilia I have been sent personally from people related to the Who from 1964 to 1978: polaroids, 8mm tapes’ frames, contact sheets, slides, setlists, private diary pages – all those things that help to give voice to a collective consciousness that would otherwise be fated to wane in time. This work is in fact more than a book about the Who: it is a portrait of a whole generation, a book that tries to reduce time and space in order to put the reader in the picture of a musical scene and social fabric that the Who contributed to change.
This book has been released in Italy by the renowned publisher “Arcana” in September 2018 and I am working on an expanded, updated English edition with more rare material in it. The text is being revised by a member of a family that had long been friends with Pete Townshend and I am in the final stage of editing. However, I am still looking for hidden materials about the Who to feature in this new edition.
I see you photographed the Who at the Fillmore East and I would be happy if I could use some of your pictures in my work. You would be credited, of course.
