REAL LIFE AIN'T ALWAYS PRETTY

I decided to start this new gallery today. This one will show the not so glamorous side of life. Some of the images may be disturbing but that is why I am doing this gallery. To show that not everyone has it so good and to remind us to be compassionate and caring to those who are going through tough times. To reach out and help instead of being judgemental. This is how the world is for so many that we walk past everyday. Not very pretty but it was not meant to be.

A very sad gallery. Certainly makes one think. So many powerful images here Cindi. Your words on one of your images, I think it was 'Was once someone's little boy' really bought it all home to me. God forbid if any of my children ever ended up like that, I will give them a longer hug tonight when I put them to bed.

Like many others, I post photos of vacations, pretty places and things which appeal to me. This gallery is a valuable reminder that life isn't always the way we want to think of it. As a Vietnam combat veteran, the photo by Larry Burrows speaks to me especially because when we are comfortable it is easy to forget those who bear those burdens. Thank you for the reminder Cindi. You got my vote.

As very difficult as it is to view this gallery, I can't imagine the concentration needed to put it together. Every picture is very sensitive and very well taken. It certainly makes a powerful statement without the sensationalism that so often happens in these galleries. Bravo. Vote.

It's so easy for many not to notice...or pretend the world isn't real...and walk on by. Most people don't realize that a stroke of fate, an economic downturn, loss of support systems, health problems, age...and they can find themselves in similar situations...You've shown these individuals with dignity and understanding. This is a very, very powerful gallery and very thought provoking.
